A prestigious military hospital in Qatar is seeking an experienced Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to provide strategic and operational leadership across all medical and clinical services. This position reports directly to the CEO and drives clinical excellence, patient safety, accreditation readiness, and service development.

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • German Board certified with proven experience as a CMO or Medical Director in a hospital setting.
  • North American trained candidates with senior hospital leadership experience may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical governance, quality, patient safety, and accreditation programs (e.g., JCI, CAP).
  • Chair key clinical committees including Medical Executive Committee, Pharmacy & Therapeutics, Infection Prevention, and others.
  • Oversee credentialing, privileging, and professional conduct of medical staff.
  • Optimize clinical operations: patient flow, documentation, staffing, and standardization of care.
  • Provide strategic input into hospital growth, service line planning, and digital health initiatives.
  • Promote medical education, research, and continuous professional development (CME/CPD).
  • Represent the hospital to MoPH, external stakeholders, and professional bodies.
  • Lead ethical, legal, and risk management aspects of clinical care.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) with recognized specialty qualification.
  • Eligible for medical licensing in Qatar (MoPH/DHP).
  • Proven leadership experience as CMO or Medical Director in a hospital setting.
  • Expertise in quality & patient safety, clinical governance, and accreditation readiness.
  • Strong understanding of credentialing/privileging, medical staff governance, and clinical risk management.
  • Formal leadership training (MBA/MHA/MPH) is desirable.
  • Experience in JCI/CAP surveys and complex stakeholder management is advantageous.
  • Arabic language skills are a plus but not required.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: QAR 80,000 – 100,000/month
